iFishIENCi Final Event, Bergen, Norway, June 21st & 22nd 2023

We invite you to join us at NCE Seafood Innovation Cluster, Marineholmen, Bergen, where we will showcase the projects latest technology advancements in digital twin and IoT for feeding efficiency through behavior analysis and precision monitoring. A dedicated round table will generate detailed insights on new circular value chains, Waste2Value concepts, and how policy and regulation, including the EU Taxonomy, will shape future investment flows in the industry. There are several sessions to choose from, including showcases, demos, workshops and networking, across the broad range of iFishIENCi innovations, so check out the event page for the agenda and register your attendance.

iFishIENCi SmartRAS Demonstration: Salmon in Malta, May 24th 2023

Technology experts from EGM, BiOceanOr, and University of Bergen demonstrated the Biology 4.0 (FishMET) and IoT/AI Technology integration aspects of the project as applied to the precision Recirculating Aquaculture Systems used for salmon research at AquaBioTech Group. Study coordinator Dr Giovanni Marco Cusimano will give feedback on how demonstration trials are helping to advance SmartRAS, and how this technology is supporting the research work of the company through real time data and decision support for his fish husbandry team and technicians.

12th Fishing and Angling Professional Conference in Gödöllő: iFishIENCi Farmer Training and Demo Event, January 26-27th 2023

Hungarian aquaculture farmers attending the 12th Fishing and Angling Professional Conference in Gödöllő, Hungary, Organised by the Institute of Aquaculture and Environmental Safety (AKI), Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences (MATE), College of Fishing and Angling, Foundation for the Development of Fish Sciences and Hungarian National Fishing Association, will have the opportunity to attend the iFishIENCi Farmer Training Program.

This event will also involve partners Lars Ebbeson (NORCE Norwegian Research Center), Nikos Papandroulakis (Hellenic Center for Marine Research HCMR), Tamás Bardócz (AquaBioTech Group), Balázs Kovács (MATE-AKI), Varju-Katona Milán (Bajcshal), and Márton Orbán (Vitafort) as presenters and trainers. 

Topics to be presented will include The examination of feed additives and potential raw materials in the iFishIENCi project and in other R&D programs, Innovative developments in cage aquaculture of sea bream and sea bass in Greece, The importance of digitization in Norwegian salmon farming, Opportunities of the circular economy in aquaculture based on the results of the iFishIENCi project, African catfish selection breeding program within the iFishIENCi project, and Results achieved by the iFishIENCi project at BAJCSHAL Kft.

iFishIENCi land-based ponds Hungarian Demo event January 18th 2023

As part of the work package three Demonstration experiments for land based ponds and flow through- which featured the testing newly selected African catfish (Clarias gariepinus) lines on pilot feeds for African catfish- partners Bajcshal, with support of MATE, will be opening their farm in Hungary for a farm demonstration event. Participating Hungarian producers and other invited stakeholders will be given the opportunity to see the iFishIENCi Demo in action.

African catfish in SmartRAS virtual demo event December 5th 2022

We would like to invite you see for yourself the scale up of our project innovations, seeing SmartRAS in action at AquaBioTech Group Innovia Research Facility, where feed trials are underway with feeds containing Candida yeast meal, produced especially as a fishmeal replacement protein source by NORCE for the project. African catfish have specially selected as part of the MATE selective breeding program for their utilisation of alternative protein feeds in flow through systems in Hungary. The resulting selected fish are now being compared to non-selected African catfish in the AquaBioTech Group precision Recirculating Aquaculture Systems to demonstrate the applicability to other production methods. Meet the study coordinator Dr Giovanni Marco Cusimano and the technical team as they explain how their demonstration trials are helping to advance SmartRAS, and the New Feeds and Breeding program of the project.

Exploring synergies and lessons to be learned for the benefit of Green & Blue industries, this short and interactive workshop will be presenting relevant synergies between the aquaculture and agriculture industries.

Horizon for Aquaculture Online Event, June 2021

EU H2020 funded projects GAINiFishIENCi and IMPAQT together launched Horizon4Aquaculture, a three-day online event on the 15th, 22nd and 29th June to work together in 3 key aspects: Policy and RegulationCircularity, and Precision Aquaculture. Horizon4Aquaculture invited researchers, aquaculture farmers, policymakers, national and pan-national aquaculture development organizations to join the conversation and contribute to the present and future of the sector.
