For the breeding trial, a thousand fish have been measured and two hundred have been chosen for further DNA extraction and genetic analysis. Microsatellite and SCAR markers were used to select the best-performing individuals for breeding. After data analysis, 16 females and 18 males were bred and three thousand fish have been transported to Bajcshal – Győri Előre Halászati Termelőszövetkezet to the feeding trials using feeds developed by iFishIENCi partner, Aller Aqua Research & Development.
