H2020 IFishIENCi partner, Hellenic Centre for Marine Research – HCMR are investigating the thermal tolerance of the European sea bass, evaluating their response to different temperatures in marine recirculating aquaculture systems. Video observation techniques are being used to monitor their behavior and physiology, indicators which help the scientists distinguish which conditions are most suitable for the fish. Water quality parameters are being measured in real-time using advanced digital technology, and changes in the microbial communities are also being analysed to explore correlations between microbiological changes and other parameters, such as water quality and fish health.
