Testing the palatability and digestibility of Nannochloropsis meal
0 Comment
iFishIENCi partner, Aller Aqua Research & Development has commenced testing the effects of Nannochloropsis meal on Rainbow trout in Germany. The trial will last for 8 weeks and focuses on palatability and digestibility of the microalgae. Faeces are being collected to investigate a modulatory effect of Nannochloropsis upon the intestinal microbiome and its consequences for protein digestibility, health and overall performance of fish. The photoautotrophic microalgae (Nannochloropsis) were produced last year at the National Algaepilot Mongstad in Norway, by Universitetet i Bergen and NORCE.
